    Production Scheduler - Prosser

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
    The Production Scheduler position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the production needs for the plant on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Position monitors FGs inventory levels and coordinates supplies; including input transfers of ingredients and supplies from other facilities; creates manufacturing orders (MO's); generates packaging ingredient & supplies pulls; and completes the daily production schedule and printouts of operator documentation.
    This position works closely with corporate production planning, purchasing, contract manufacturing, warehousing and external suppliers.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Coordinate availability and delivery of materials.
    o Work with Planning and Contract Manufacturing to review production schedules and related information and confer with department supervisors to determine materials requirements.
    o Requisition material and establish sequential delivery dates to departments according to job FGs (Sales demand and timing) priorities and supply availability.
    o Arrange in-plant and inter-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules. Plan for rework of Hold for Non-Conformance product.
    o Order & maintain adequate inventory to meet production schedule
    o Release cans & fiber; order pallets (standard and CHEP) for packaging lines
    o Perform cycle-counts of finished goods and packaging materials & reconcile to inventory system

    2. Prepare and publish the weekly schedules
    o Combine all production department schedules onto a master worksheet for the corporate plant. Answer questions from staff for the corporate planners. Make adjustments to the weekly/monthly schedule based on the plant's daily production.
    o Prepare and publish weekly and weekend hourly work schedule (including all schedule changes throughout the week) for production, lab and warehouse departments.
    o Prepare and publish weekly slurry receiving schedule
    o Prepare and publish crewing schedule in the absence of the HR manager.

    3. Utilize Movex and other systems to develop and convey information to plant manager, manufacturing manager and department supervisors. Update monthly, weekly and daily production plan and issue those plans to plant manager and plant accountant. Update Production Plan and issue, based on the plant's daily production, any updates to the schedules. Hold weekly production meetings to review materials and schedules.

    4. Coordinate shipment of finished goods.
    o Work with traffic and coordinate with plant/internal warehouse management scheduling, pickup, and delivery of Co-packed finished goods from the corporate warehouse to outside storages
    o Work with traffic & Warehouse managers to arrange for the transfer of finished goods from the corporate warehouse to other facility storage locations.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    * Principles and practices of production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
    * Principles and practices of basic accounting and/or inventory control.
    * Principles and practices of effective business communication; basic report writing methods and techniques; correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
