Job Responsibilities:
Automation technicians perform routine and emergency diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems, and perform repairs. For example, CAE technicians at CNP use weights or specialized instruments to ensure the machines are functioning properly and to design and legal specifications. If a problem occurs, the technician will troubleshoot the issue and determine if the problem is mechanical, electrical or from the computer systems controlling the process. Once the issue has been diagnosed, the technician shall repair or replace any necessary components, such as a sensor or electrical wiring.

Technical Guidelines:


* Troubleshoot, service and fix the computerized systems and robotic devices that are designed to reduce human interaction, such as robotic assembly devices and computer-controlled building air-conditioning systems.
* Manufacture, document, and test control systems and process controls.
* Installation, testing and calibration level, temperature, and flow controls.
* Programable logic Control (PLC) Communication and Automation Systems. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems. PLC programs, motor VFD's and other electronic systems.
* Troubleshoot, Modify, and Maintain a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) using Ignition SCADA, SQL Historian, Compact-Logics, Allen Bradley PLC 5, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Allen Bradley CLX 5500, Allen Bradley Panel View, and GE Fanuc LM-90 platforms.
* Assist on shift and as needed with Program logic and automation to support all aspects of automation across the site
* Knowledgeable of all different Electrical power profiles and able to troubleshoot effectively
* Design, fabricate and test Electrical Panels to support all levels of automation and power distribution across the site
* Instrument maintenance and calibration
* Create, organize, and maintain documentation related to aforementioned items
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years' experience in the following:

* Electrical Instrumentation and calibration.

Principal responsibilities:

The position will report to the Technical Manager and provide technical leadership to their assigned unit. This position manages & coordinates site safety/health programs for the Port Arthur Plant including injury/illness prevention, training, IH, hazard communication, fire protection, injury case management, emergency medical, emergency response, respiratory protection, etc. Environmental, PSM and Security functions are also responsibilities. The site must meet DHS requirements, and Responsible Care. This role leads the site to deliver 100% Compliance, Zero Incidents and works to minimize our environmental impact.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

* Develop new and revise existing procedures and systems for compliance with OSHA regulations.
* Coordinate safety/health training for new hires, transfers, contractors, and existing plant personnel
* Evaluate and control field safety/health risks and develop necessary corrective actions
* Review regulations, determine applicability to Port Arthur Plant, provide procedures for compliance, and audit for effectiveness
* Respond to and investigate employee inquiries, suggestions
* Maintain safety documentation and issue safety statistics (including OSHA 300 log)
* Assist employees and supervisors with safety equipment needs
* Coordinate EHS activities and training of personnel as needed
* Manage and investigate incidents/injury/significant near miss events and recommend corrective action
* Proactively work with IH or outside resources to proactively head off safety concerns (including IH testing if needed)
* Initiate Investment requests pertaining to safety, health, and fire protection needs.
* Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs (HAZFOM, Exposure Control Program, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing, Asbestos, Hazard Assessment, PPE, Chemical Hygiene, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry Program)
* Incident reporting and incident investigation incl. "near-miss".
* Facilitate site Safety Committee meetings
* Asbestos Abatement Supervision
* Conduct Environmental Field Inspections
* Security - Establish and maintain Port Arthur Plant's DOT Security
* Designated Facility Safety Officer

Education
* B.S. Degree in Engineering - ChE, Civil Engineering, Safety/Environmental, Industrial or related), Chemistry, Environmental Science
Experience

The Continuous Improvement Lead, shall assist all departments in mapping out workflows, removing waste and low-value activities, and recommending solutions. Guided by formal methodologies like kaizen, this position will take the lead in implementing changes, acting as a leader, program manager, and mentor throughout different areas of the organization. The most successful candidates will have experience working in Plant Operations and in Kaizen. Ultimate responsibility is to identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:





* Act as an internal consultant, develop short- and long-term strategies for the organization while incorporating Lean/Six Sigma and other practices to facilitate progress and reduce costs, both in terms of sales and workflow inefficiencies.
* Drive change across the organization by analyzing existing processes using various methods, such as gap analysis, RC/CA, and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), in pursuit of continuous improvement.
* Participate in internal audits and the auditing of Root Cause analysis reports as they relate to product consistency, customer complaints, and internal off-spec investigations.
* Participate in Kaizen Audits to help eliminate opportunities for reoccurrence.
* Reviewing and evaluating lab data and corrective action reports submitted by Subject Matter Experts.
* Follow up with Subject Matter Experts to ensure timely corrective action reports are provided.
* Support the generation of statistical data for operations, sales, and management.

Requirements

* 4-year degree in science related field from an accredited college or university.
* Experience in Continuous Improvement Principles required. Black Belt Six-Sigma Certification preferred.
* Experienced in training and implementing Lean Manufacturing in a working environment preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of operations experience preferred.
* Excellent communication skills - written; internal email, correspondence with customers, managers, etc.
* Good organizational skills - collecting and analyzing data, maintaining status reports, managing lab samples, conducting corrective action follow-ups.
* Effective analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
* Computer proficiency in MS Office Software Applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power point and basic database experience.

* Develop process flow diagrams.
* Drive alarm management to completion and provide support for continuing success.
* Solicit input from all appropriate resources (engineering, operations, and maintenance) and balance conflicting requirements.
* Direct, coordinate, or participate in Process Safety Review or Management of Change process.
* Initiate communications with affected areas and produce progress reports.
* Provide engineering assistance and expertise to Operations and Maintenance as needed.
* Supervise and mentor Coop Students.
* Continuously initiate ways to improve plant operations, safety and environmental performance through day-to-day activities and recommendations for optimized unit conditions.
* Drive continuous variable cost improvement.
* Work with Technology group to optimize plant operating conditions to maximize profitability.
* Provide engineering assistance for environmental permitting requirements.
* Review and make recommendations to keep the plants operating envelope current.
* Manage capital and expense projects utilizing the Capital Value Process.
* Coordinate field construction and establish a schedule of activities.
* Coordinate activities with the other operations engineers to assure full value across the entire unit is realized.
* Spend time in the control room and listen to the ideas of technicians and shift managers to gather ideas for safety and cost improvement.
* Obtain process and operating data to perform calculations for feasibility studies, process studies, and evaluations. Investigate assignments and establish plans with objectives and a schedule.
* Around the clock support during plant outages including confined space work.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE







* Plant experience with chemical manufacturing experience and a Degree in Chemical Engineering

Responsibilities include:







* Developing process controls execution strategies in conjunction with overall project development team
* Participate in P&ID development and Operability and Hazard Reviews
* Create, check or approve specifications of process control equipment including control valves, relief valves, flow measurement devices, process instrumentation, analytical systems, and DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
* Identify and manage process controls technical risk items
* Manage a teams schedule, budget, and quality which can include a local in-house design team, geographically remote engineering and design center, or an outside engineering EPC
* Review SIL assessments and author SIL verification
* Participate in Control System Design reviews
* Responsible for Cyber Security aspects of their scope of supply
* Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of Process Automation equipment (DCS, Analyzers, PDC)
* Production and maintenance of instrument summaries
* Participate in plant commissioning, BPCS / SIS validations, SAT, and startups.
* Manage deliverables and report to project management about progress.
* May participate in preparing cost estimates for valves, instrumentation, analytical equipment, DCS equipment, SIS equipment and labor

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
* At least 8 years of applicable work experience
* Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of the design and implementation of control and instrumentation systems for process plants; provide and discuss examples
* Experience developing BPCS / SIS architectures, control applications, and hardware specifications using Siemens PCS7; additional experience with other controls platforms is a plus
* Must be able to demonstrate technical competence, leadership skills, communicate effectively
* Instrumentation specification authoring in Smart-Plant Instrumentation toolset
* Must be able to lead and direct the work of junior engineers assigned to projects
