Summary - Manages and directs a staff of employees in the maintenance of machinery, buildings and grounds; assures the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, production machinery etc.; ensures efficient delivery of departmental services to clients; responsible for establishing the maintenance of a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of complicated tasks; leads and directs the work of others; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsibilities -
* Responsible for managing the safe performance of the maintenance workforce while driving overall continuous improvement in the area of safety
* Responsible for maintaining all production and non-production equipment, facility wide, within fiscal guidelines, while maintaining safety and quality
* Responsible to maintain and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs insuring timely completion of related work
* Responsible for developing and maintaining a maintenance management process including, but not limited to, maintenance scheduling, planning, history, capital project management and spare parts
* Define job expectations and performance goals for maintenance function
* Determine and assign priorities to multiple projects, coordinate the departmental workload of employees who repair and maintain buildings/facilities
* Oversee layout of equipment, office, and production facilities.
* Work with the Health, Safety and Environmental group to formulate general safety policies and procedures
* Oversee contractors for facilities renovation projects entailing, HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangement, etc.
* Oversees the preparation of work instructions and pre-established guidelines for staff to perform the functions of their job
* Responsible for managing the security of the facility
* Responsible for managing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal customers as well as outside vendors
* Must possess the necessary skills to troubleshoot machine problems and have the ability to assist in the repair of equipment
Qualifications -
* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Technology or equivalent experience required
* Computer skills with MicroSoft Office and AutoCad preferred
* Proficiency with blue print and electrical diagram reading required.
* Structural, Hydraulics, Electrical, Pneumatics and Mechanical background preferred.
* Experience with maintenance management systems, project management and previous supervisory or management roles.
* 7-10 years working experience in a facilities and maintenance environment
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes in an industrial, construction, and/or project engineering environment.
* Familiar with machine tools and standard shop tools
* Able to simultaneously manage both small and large projects with a high degree of success.
