What will you be doing?
Reads blueprint drawings, work orders and tooling instructions to machine plastic parts on a CNC lathe machine according to customer specifications. Programs, set-ups and runs machine tools on the lathe machine. Loads parts to the fixture and secures the work piece, tools and tool holders. Selects tools to perform the required operations. Monitors tool wear and changes tools and inserts as required. Uses measuring equipment to ensure that parts meet specifications within very close tolerances. Key Skills and Competencies:

1 Minimum of one year experience operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
2 Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.
3 Intermediate knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
4 Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
5 Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
6 Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1 Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as but not limited to lathes and milling machines.
2 Responsible for loading parts, operating controls, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
3 Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and reports all machines malfunctions to immediate supervisor.
4 Communicates with supervisor for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
5 Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
6 Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

What will you be doing?

* The Furnace Operator's main responsibility is to constantly survey the deck and glass primaries and avoid malfunctions
* Makes adjustments to beading machines to attain scheduled bead sizes and/or gradations
* Assists in wheel changes and all production mechanical work
* Insures all batch feeding and storage processes are working properly
* Maintains a safe and clean work area
* Respond quickly in the event of a power failure or power interruption to restore critical production processes
* Shares paper work including check sheets, logs reports with the Shift Supervisor
* Watches process water constantly to see cooling is achieved at bushings and burners
* Helps Assistant Furnace Operator bag WIP production from full bead bins
* Other assignments as deemed necessary by Shift Supervisor and management
