Stop any machines upon discovery of a problem and make the required adjustments as quickly as possible to minimize downtime. Provide quality control by inspecting workpieces as they come out of the equipment and removing any defective pieces. Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind any metal workpieces to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products. Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure the surfaces are filed or finished accordingly. Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed. Perform basic repairs, including replacing parts when they are worn down or broken, within the scope of expected knowledge and expertise. Assists all supervisor and perform other duties as needed and directed. Basic Responsibilities/Key Role Poses and able to use inspections equipment to ensure the quality of the parts being produced. Must be equipped with all required tools to perform the functions of their job. Physically able to do the work requiring frequent standing, bending and lifting up to 12 lbs. frequently and 20 lbs. occasionally. Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports. Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machine and inspect parts. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate the equipment properly. Must be able to stand 8 to 10 hours days. What are the job responsibilities?

* Responsible for daily maintenance work and personal safety.
* Maintain mobile machinery, primarily forklifts, boom boats, grapples and bucket loaders keeping equipment in good repair to allow for effective mill flow.
* Maintain mobile equipment, Boom Boats, heavy logging (loaders, grapple) and forklifts for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
* Diagnose faults or malfunctions using deduction and testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
* Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
* Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets specifications.
* Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
* Welding and fabrication as necessary.
* Work indoors, exposed to typical outdoor environmental temperatures, dust, vibration and noise within acceptable WCB Levels.
* Use of hand tools and equipment (grinders, etc) as required weighing between 25-30 lbs.
* Continuous walking and standing throughout shift.
* Routinely carrying objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
* Routinely handling and moving heavy materials up to 100 lbs with mechanical or otherwise assistance when necessary.
* Other related duties may be assigned.

What do you bring to the job?

* Prior experience and/or certification as Heavy Duty Mechanic.
* Experience working in a lumber or sawmill is an asset.
* Proficient communication in English is required.
* Able to use all required personal protective equipment, including a respirator when needed.
* Able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
* Able to read and follow safe work procedures.
* Clear understanding of Metric and Imperial measures.
* Adaptable to changing priorities, troubleshooting abilities and quick decision-making abilities.
* Excellent hand-eye coordination.
* Able to physically handle heavy materials safely and effectively. Record electronically or make notes
regarding repairs completed, repairs needing to be done or parts required to complete tasks.

Licensed Lead Mechanic/Millwright needed for LARGE global manufacturing client in WOODBRIDGE, ON!

The Role:

Act as main point of contact on shift for the maintenance team and Foreman



* manage maintenance team (3 people) while on shift

* participate in equipment break downs during shifts and assist with prioritizing maintenance team's tasks

* Participate with the completion of preventative maintenance tasks, major and/or minor repairs to equipment and installation of new equipment

You bring:



* Industrial Mechanic/Millwright 433A - MUST HAVE

* demonstrated experience in heavy equipment, stamping, roll-forming, or aluminum extrusion with AC/DC drives, servo motors, VFD's, and PLC's

* Superior communication skills with a proven track record when training and directing in a team environment.

* Demonstrated experience in trouble shooting and problem solving.
