GENERAL SUMMARY: Perform a variety of maintenance, repair and continuous improvement functions on plant equipment and machinery with limited direction and guidance. Support manufacturing operations in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 1. Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment with minimal supervision using safe techniques and schematics. Perform electrical tasks and incidental work as needed to achieve assigned task.
2.. Operate in response to requests by maintenance supervisor or support personnel and set priorities as required to maximize equipment uptime.

3. Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including calipers, dial indicators, electrical meters and other diagnostic and measurement devices.   Utilize measurement devices to hold print tolerances and industry standards while performing machine repairs and assembly.

 4. Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life. Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable.

 5. Update drawings/prints, suggest spare parts and suitable replacements, and perform various forms of machine repair/rebuild in a professional manner per line-up and schematics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 1. Journeyman’s card or equivalent work experience.
 2. High school diploma or equivalent.
 3. Ability to pass a Maintenance Technician aptitude test.
 4. Knowledge of industrial, mechanical and electrical codes, techniques and standards.
 5. Must have strong background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic arms, and overall machine troubleshooting skills.
 6. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and systems up to 110 volts.
 7. Familiarity with complex machinery, electrical circuits, and plant operating equipment. Should maintain a sense of urgency, self-motivation and overall good work ethic while performing tasks in a safe manner.

Summary
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Diagnose problems and affect repairs to Plant equipment on a timely basis.

Responsibilities 

Executes assignments received from the Maintenance Manager/Mechanic Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems, and production machines Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Understand and adhere to GMP, SOP and safety procedures at all times.

Skills and Experience 

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Care and maintenance of commonly used hand and power tools and equipment Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems and other equipment and systems found in the facilities A certain degree of creativity and latitude Ability to interpret technical documents; such as operating and maintenance instructions Willingness to work overtime as production schedule demand. The Role:
Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and PLC's
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions; repair/replace parts
Operate machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
Troubleshooting/repairs/installations of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
Extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics
Participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules

You Bring:
Millwright License - Industrial Millwright 433A or Maintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing setting (food/pharma preferred)
2-5 years' industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry.
Proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices, pneumatic & hydraulic fields is required

Salary: $30-$40.00 per hour, based on experience
Regular Hours: Monday thru Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm

Duties & Key Responsibilities:
• Set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC lathes and mills to produce parts according to specifications
