    Job Description:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    * Assist project teams in creation and/or completion of panel design request forms.
    * Assist in development of CAD and panel design group standards.
    * Leads multiple projects while delegating tasks to designers and drafters.
    * Reads and interprets customer diagrams and documentation and communicates with project team to understand objectives and preferences.
    * Confer with engineering staff, manufacturing staff and other personnel to resolve problems.
    * Provides guidance and assistance to other designers and drafters.
    * Provides guidance and assistance to production on all aspects of the panel design.
    * Selects Parts and interpret vendor cut sheets to determine functionality of components.
    * Uses AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical to create and update CAD drawings.
    * Develops panel layout and detail drawings.
    * Develops PLC module and electrical drawings.
    * Performs panel power and heat calculations.
    * Performs updates to panel layout and detail drawings based on markups in accordance with company and customer standards.
    * Performs updates to PLC module and electrical drawings based on markups in accordance with company and customer standards.
    * Performs self and peer review checks of panel drawings.

    What is the job?

    * Receiving files from clients for print.
    * Prepare customer files for printing press.
    * Ensure colour matching, layout, and formatting are all correct before print.
    * Work with production team to ensure high quality.
    * Using computer programs and other related software for prepress.
    * Ability to colour-match and ensure that all items are accurate for print.
    * Digital prepress, some flatbed printing, and some bindery experience may be required.
    * Other ad hoc duties as assigned.


    What you bring to the job?

    * A minimum of 1-2 years' prior prepress experience.
    * Knowledge of colour-matching and printing/prepress process
    * High degree of accuracy in work and a meticulous attention to detail.
    * Self-starter with the ability to make good time management, organizational and problem-solving skills

    Our client is looking for a Design Director in their new Vancouver office & eventual internal brands design team. The Design Director works independently and with internal Technical Design, Fit, Sales, eCommerce and Executive team


    * DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


    * Create merchandising plan, sketches, linesheets, merchandising maps
    * Source and allocate market relevant fabrics to all designs.
    * Lead another designer to design apparel collections for Outerwear & Men's seasonal collections & fast-to-market micro-drops.
    * Communications with vendors. Work with Technical Designers to bring developments to sample form.
    * Initiate responsibility for lab dips, fabric construction feedback and approvals.
    * Follow internal calendar throughout the development season to hit main collection and micro-drop milestones.
    * Present collections to Wholesale Sales & E-commerce teams to prepare them for seasonal customer presentations and e-commerce buy commitments.
    * Sit in on fit sessions with Technical Designer & Fit Technician to ensure that design expression & integrity is being realized in pre-production.
    * Work with Marketing teams to ensure that design expression & integrity is being conveyed effectively to consumers
    * Align and allocate resources upon growth of Vancouver office. Onboard & train new employees to work functionally within the organization.
    * Conduct performance management exercises for any directly reporting individuals, coach and mentor new employees to effectively manage growing responsibility of Vancouver office.
    * Conduct market research using trend forecasting services, competitor analysis in Vancouver and travelling throughout North America & Europe for inspiration. Forecast fabrication, silhouette, print, colour and trends.

    QUALIFICATIONS:


    * Post-secondary education in Fashion Design or equivalent combination of education and work experience
    * Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a similar role
    * Proven experience at all stages of the design process from conception through to implementation
    * Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
    * Possesses fiber, yarn and fabric knowledge with a key emphasis on performance fabrications
    * Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
    * Must hold a valid passport and have the ability to travel as required

    What will you be doing?

    * Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current systems
    * Working individually or as part of a team, determine customer requirements in complex and often ambiguous outsourced environments from client RFx documents and/or client interactions
    * Communicates inter-tower dependencies, volume overlaps, staff sharing, and other opportunities for solution optimization
    * Provide direct input to the DMI Delivery Lead on timelines, estimates, risks, deviations to requirements, or other challenges during planning and throughout the project
    * Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues, deviations to requirements or other challenges to ensure project objectives are met
    * Lead the creation of comprehensive end-to-end solutions for projects and initiatives
    * Coordinate with Architects, System analysis, and other Solution Designers

    * Azure skills highly preferred, including provisioning, Configuring, and developing ETL pipelines using ADL, ADF, ADW etc.
    * In-depth understanding of database structure principles
    * Hands-on experience using MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle or other RDBMS platforms.
    * Hands-on experience developing stored procedures for MS SQL Server (and Oracle) databases
    * Good knowledge of APIs and/or event streaming
    * Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau etc.)
