    $20 hr.

    Manpower is seeking to fill 4 Maker Assistant roles in the Detroit, Mi location! Are you looking to move into a long term good paying position?

    What Will You Be Doing?
    This position is responsible for the off line support of Detroit Festoon Maker floor Operations. Responsibilities include material handling for the Detroit Abrasives Maker floor as relates to the staging, input, and removal of raw materials, finished goods, and waste materials. This position also has responsibility for support of production Maker floor operations including mineral, solution delivery systems, assisting with oven operation and in process web handling.

    Shift Times:
    Days: M-W 6a-630pm + Th 6-10am
    Nights: M 2a-6:30a + M-W 6p-6:30am

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Maker Assistant:
     Assist Maker floor operations in the following areas.
     Stage input materials such as minerals, needed for schedule using PIV, hand truck, and hoist.
     Manually load mineral.
     Assure and verify input materials and in process materials to maximize yield and ensure product quality.
     Load input rolls into butler unwind for coating using a hoist.
     Follow splice preparation procedure to join rolls.
     Remove finished and semi-finished materials from the production area using hoists and powered industrial vehicles.
     Download oven settings and recipes following production schedule.
     Start web through ovens
     Remove start up and scrap web from ovens
     Perform oven quality checks by monitoring instrumentation and performing visual inspections of web
     Ensure adequate stick supply
     Address stick jams
     Complete production reporting
     Assist with Maker floor start up and shut down
     Stage and input minerals for mineral coating
     Accurately record process and production data required for control of process, materials, and quality assurance.
     Coordinate and perform salvage or scrapping operations and assure compliance to plant safety, labeling, and Hazardous waste stream profiles.
     Electrostatic Coater room and equipment set up including: Belt preparation, belt installation, ground rod and idler roll replacement and cleaning.
    Maker floor Break Relief:
     Provide break relief for positions on the Maker floor line including web input and print, Make coater, size coater, solution preparation and winder.
     Monitor process settings and notify Machine Operator or Maker Lead when out of control conditions occur
     Make adjustments to properly guide web through equipment
