Aseptic processing is the most critical manufacturing aspect of the site. All product manufactured in aseptic environment is considered sterile when the medicine goes into the vial. That means the medicine is in the final state and ready to be injected into patient's body. To ensure that the product is sterile, the room and environment must be clean and free of contamination. Sanitation duties include cleaning and disinfecting the room, line equipment, and all support areas where the medicine will be filled. Personnel working in sanitation must be able to learn and adhere to the fundamental basics of aseptic processing to avoid contamination of environment. Any lapse in understanding, judgement, and technique will impact product manufactured in the area. This means that if we don't follow procedure by cleaning and disinfecting properly, the product will be contaminated and patients receiving the medicines will get sicker or die. Personnel must always work with integrity to prevent contamination of the product.
