    CAD Drafter (Telecommunications) - THIS IS A 90 DAY CONTRACT TO HIRE OPPORTUNITY. REMOTE BUT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EAST COAST HOURS



    Responsibilities:


    * Work directly with field engineers, project engineers, project managers and designers to develop construction drawings for utility projects
    * poles (aerial and underground).
    * Interact with the local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces to acquire OSP Records, ICGS, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS and Construction Prints.

    * Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings

    * Research and obtain standards/codes required by clients and Jurisdictions and ensure drawings comply
    * Work in AutoCAD, base-mapping, GIS and layering, Outside Plant, running line, conduit and cable design for copper, fiber optics, coax, manholes, hand holes, Make-Ready Engineering and
    * Site surveys, translating field notes to develop and update conduit/ cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD.

    * Research and obtain local land base & existing utility as-built shapefiles for import

    * Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and quality

    * Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner

    * Create permit drawings, to be submitted city, county, state, local municipalities, CSX, NSRR, etc

    * Input information into client specific records/mapping systems

    * Adhere to task level budgets and project schedules

    * Collect necessary information for design drawings

    Qualifications:


    * 1+ years of progressive work experience in Computer Aided Drafting
    * Advanced computer skills or CADD or drafting experience a plus
    * NDS design experience a PLUS
    * AutoCAD experience
    * Experience reading blue prints, conduit prints and floor plans.
    * Experience reading permits

    * Fiber/Small Cell/DAS/OSP experience preferred but not required

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction drawings

    * Ability to prioritize daily with respect to projects, deadlines, CAD standards, etc.

    * High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

    * Must pass criminal background check and drug screen

    Job Description:
    Installer must be able to install, terminate, test and document various types of cable (ie: coax, twisted pair, solid conductor low voltage cable, single and multi-mode fiber optical cable).

    Requirements:
    * Have working knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) test equipment including, watt meters, spectrum analyzer, connector types and usage as well as identify proper electrical connectors.
    * Ability to understanding of the scope and requirements of the project.
    * This position requires standing & bending regularly throughout the work day.
    * Carrying of loads up & down stairs
    * Ability to install EMT conduits, j-hooks, cable racks and RF antennas.
    * 2 years' experience in the installation cable including coax, twisted pair, solid conductor low voltage cable, single and multi-mode fiber optical cable.
    * BDA/DAS experience a plus
    * Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
    * Must have a valid Florida Driver's License

    Creates project designs, creates drawings, for the placement of fiber optic cables, poles, conduit, transmission equipment and associated electronics

    Creates designs based on current and past network architectures

    Completes construction drawings for telecommunication projects

    Estimates costs, identifies appropriate materials and equipment, estimates project timelines

    Education and Experience Required:


    * High school diploma, Associates or bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering field desired but not required
    * 3+ years of telecom design experience
    * ARAMIS OR BST.CAD experience is required
    * Proficiency with AutoCAD is required (2015 or newer preferred)
    * Proficiency with ArcGIS is preferred

    * Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
    * Participate in working on multiple fiber design projects from award to completion including having knowledge of site acquisition, engineering, permitting, construction, and project closeout.
    * Read, analyze, & understand specific project scopes of work and translate into design requirements
    * Provide suggested cable routings, drop/house/unit count and proposed/actual pedestal locations and other topographical data intended to afford design personnel the optimum opportunity to design the most effective plant placement.
    * Convert field notes, architectural, engineering and/or plan sketches into working construction drawings using the required software per customer specifications.
    * Revise construction drawings per customer and internal redlines.
    * Work collaboratively with field staff and the permitting groups to prepare, draft, and review the necessary drawings for construction, permitting, and records.
