Job Description

What you'll be doing:

Assembling tables, chairs, wall cabinet, installing or removing posts and signs.

Maintaining room wiring systems and emergency exit signs; adjust timers; and test and replace smoke detectors and emergency lights. Changing Light Bulbs. Securing electrical wires.

Perform scheduled building and property inspections. Review inspection form results with Facilities Management team

Schedules/coordinates/recommends repairs or improvements with Facilities team in the areas of plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscape, painting, etc.

Repairing or replacing various plumbing fixtures and hardware. Unclogging sluggish or stopped drains.

Repairing or replacing cabinet doors, drawers, non-fire rated doors, and door locks.

Handling incoming deliveries and moving them to the designated areas.

Notifying management concerning need for repairs, lighting needs, safety hazards, and any other issues that affect the appearance of the property.

Work closely with the janitor to maintain facilities cleanliness.

Who were looking for:

1-2 years hands-on experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a corporate and/or distribution center setting

Experience in commercial or industrial building related repairs, maintenance, construction, renovations and/or other facets of property or building management

High School diploma or equivalent; some trade school or vocational training preferred but nor required

Effective English verbal and written communication; bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required

Strong interpersonal, customer service, decision making and problem solving skills

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems

Ability to multitask and respond to frequently redirected task assignments

Basic computer skills, including internet usage, emailing and populating work orders and other forms

Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate challenges and inquiries without hesitation

Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision while maintaining continuous communication and guidance from facilities.

Able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
