Manpower has partnered with a textile production company here in Chattanooga, Tennessee and is hiring for some great positions! As a Sewing Machine Operator, you will be using a commercial sewing machine to stitch together textile products in a fast-paced, employee-centered environment. What Will You Be Doing?
● Ensuring that all materials and parts are available and gathered prior to beginning work
● Drawing threads through needles and adjust the machine
● Position materials under needles to sew them together, replace and rethread needles, and attach parts as specified in the work order
● Observe operations to detect any faults or defects and notify supervisors of any problems or discrepancies during the sewing process
● Ensure that the finished product conforms to the instructions provided in the work order
● Ensure that excess material or threads are cut away from the finished product and trim finished bags using scissors and cutters
● Perform some preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned
What Do You Bring?
● Keen eye for details and steady hands for using industrial sewing machine
● Ability to read diagrams, patterns, and a tape measure required
● Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
● Sewing experience absolutely required (hobby and hand-sewing also count)
