Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Engagement:Provides customers with fast, friendly, and helpful service. Answers customers' questions or takes the responsibility to find answers for customers. Makes eye contact, smiles, and proactively greets and assists customers on the sales floor.



Sorting:Pulls boxes and bags off carts, opens them and removes the items. Examines items to determine if they are sellable or meet recycle criteria. Places items that will not hang on a hanger in sorting barrels, bins, and/or boxes. Meets timelines and item count standards.



Hanging Clothing:Takes garments and places them on designated hangers, then on the appropriate speedrail or rolling rack. Keeps an even pace with the sorter to ensure targets are met within company standards. Backstocks items as directed while hanging.



Assessing Quality & Condition/Sizing: Inspects garments for condition and sell-ability. Assesses quality using knowledge of brand names, fabric type, and construction. Also considers style and local demand.Reads tags for fabric content and size or uses a measuring tape to determine size.



Determining Value/Creating Price Tickets:Uses condition/quality assessments to assign a value to a garment and records the department, category, size, and price/value rating in the ticketing machine.



Tagging/Racking: attach price tags. If applicable,removes priced merchandise off the speed rails and places it onto the rolling racks by order of category and size according to the company standard.



Rolling Racks/Moving Clothing:Pulls/pushes racks or carts of newly priced merchandise onto the sales floor and puts them in the proper place; when necessary, shifts groups of items within a department for the best utilization of space on the sales floor.



Merchandising:Maintains assigned department, which includes straightening and returning items to their appropriate places. Keeps the department organized, easily shoppable, and properly merchandised according to standards.
