Actuarial Analyst job in Montreal

1 year contract to start with!!



ROLE SUMMARY

The Junior Specialist, Quantitative Management is responsible for performing analyses of quantitative investment strategies, for running and maintaining existing quantitative models, and for providing support in the development and documentation of quantitative investment strategies and models.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Execute processes and procedures necessary to run quantitative models and manage portfolios.

* Provide technical assistance to quantitative specialists and portfolio managers.

* Perform required analyses of quantitative investment strategies in a timely and accurate manner.

* Provide analytical support in the development and implementation of new LDI strategies and/or products.

* Perform validations of changes to existing quantitative models.

* Perform extensive tests of quantitative systems and tools used by quantitative specialists and portfolio managers.

* Collaborate with different business units (e.g. Data Management, Performance, Risk, Compliance, Client Servicing, etc.) to ensure quantitative strategies meet the objectives and constraints of each mandate and that they are properly reported to clients.

* Perform ad hoc analyses as required.

* Produce and maintain up-to-date documentation of processes, procedures, methodologies and models.

* Apply actuarial, mathematical skills and financial knowledge to problem solving.

Qualifications:

* Degree in actuarial science, finance, financial engineering or a quantitative field;

* Minimum 1 year experience within the investment or consulting industry;

* Strong analytical skills;

* Good knowledge of fixed income products, derivatives and pension liabilities;

* Good knowledge of investment risk models;

* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;

* Good programming skills (Matlab and VBA);

* Ability to work under pressure;

* Team player;

* Organized with attention to detail;

* Bilingualism (French & English);
