Job Title: Quality Assistant



Rate $20-21



Job Objective:

To perform a variety of duties involving the receiving, processing and quality evaluation of L&K product returned from customers and subcontractors. Manage the replacement piece process, ordering pieces, documenting failure modes and ensuring orders ship on time and complete. Cancel production orders in M3, ensuring inventory is dispositioned correctly. Act as a backup for Quality Technicians, performing first piece inspections and swatch review.



Responsibilities

Coordinate the replacement piece process to include: placing orders for pieces; monitoring and tracking orders; ensuring the appropriate pieces are picked; distributing pieces to be embroidered; matching embroidered pieces with the correct orders and assessing product availability to fulfill replacement orders.

Inspect apparel/accessories to determine reason for return. Determine disposition whether scrap, return to stock or reclassify depending on specified criteria. Move all packages received from and to storage area. Open all packages and obtain letters, packing slips, RA numbers, etc. to process return.

Use AGS to reclassify product from first quality inventory to scrap or blemished. Repackage product in specified box or polybag, including any bar code labels or hangtags.

Communicate with Customer Service about order cancellations and issues interfering with production and place orders on hold while orders are being located for changes or cancellation.

Using Excel, track failure modes of defective garments from production. Identify trends and make recommendations on how to be classify failures to provide better insights into failure reasons.

Cancel production orders in M3, using a variety of methods depending on the specific situation. Ensure that inventory is properly dispositioned in accordance to federal regulations pertaining to the Federal Trade Zone (FTZ).

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience: A minimum of one year of quality experience required. Experience with an ERP required, AGS preferred. Prior inventory management experience highly preferred. Experience using M3 preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of Customs Compliance preferred. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required. Must be proficient using a computer to include email. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math functions.
