What will you be doing?

  • Provides general administrative support for director of the Bellwether College Consortium.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Performs full administrative duties to include corresponding with BCC members, Alamo staff, college administrators, professors, and external community.
  • Composes, proofreads and distributes documents, presentations and schedules and gathers, reviews, and compiles information. 
  • Reviews and analyzes incoming correspondence to determine appropriate handling or routing of information. 
  • Arranges meetings, appointments and events for the Associate Vice Chancellor and department; greets customers, provides specialized information to visitors and callers; handles administrative matters for the organization. 
  • May assist with BCC budget and grant funding; works with vendors and accounting personnel on discrepancies; tracks transfer of funds, recommends needed funds for planning purposes. 
  • Processes and ensures accurate records are kept for all expenditures. Maintains supplies and 
    equipment inventory.
  • Responds to questions via telephone and email. 
  • Assists with business credit card reconciliation, honoraria, stipends, and assigned travel, and mileage. 
  • Schedules appointments and coordinates arrangements for meetings and conferences. 
  • Monitors department budget and processes various forms. Produces reports and documents as directed. 
  • Maintains calendars, web pages, travel documents and social media sites as needed. 
  • Organizes and expedites flow of work through office and initiates any follow-up action. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    1-2 years of strong admin/clerical experience
