Assembler

Westminster, MD

Mon-Friday 6am-3pm

$18.14 to $19.63 an hour!

Manpower is assisting a top manufacturer in the rail industry in hiring a first shift assembler. This is a contracted position expected to last up to 6 months. This is a ideal role for someone who is able to start work immediately, has a mechanical background, comfortable using hand and power tools, and is great with hands on work following blueprints.

The Mechanical Assembler conducts pre-build inspections of components and performs basic mechanical assembly of components to build units for use in the rail car industry according to drawing specifications.

What do you bring?





*

Prior experience in assembly, mechanical repair, or maintenance



*

Ability to read blueprints

*

High attention to detail

*

Experienced with hand/power tools

*

High School Diploma or GED

*

Must be able to pass and drug and background check



What you will be doing?





*

Conduct pre-build inspections of components, noting any preexisting, handling-damage, prior to beginning the build process.

Utilizing approved manufacturing work instructions, use hand, pneumatic, and power tools to assemble components, according to drawing specifications, while adhering to quality requirements and best practices.

Test assembled units, utilizing established testing procedures.

*

Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects noted during the cleaning process.

Monitor the shelf life of any consumables used to complete the build process. Follow all established disposal methods associated with consumable material.

Provide support and assistance to other technicians and team members
