Assembly Technician

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday



Salary: $33 - $38/hour + benefits

What is the job?

- Assemble agricultural, mining, forestry, and infrastructure units according to prints by properly using various hand and power tools, i.e. electric and air powered drills, wrenches, grinders, nail/staple gun, paint gun, overhead crane, drill press, band saw, pallet jack, etc.

-Perform all other assembly tasks such as: hydraulic installation, wiring, grinding, brake systems, touch up painting, labeling, plasma and weld as required to complete job assignment.

-Trouble shoot hydraulic, electric and brake systems as required and check blueprint with parts.

-Test package, crate, and/or prepare finished goods for shipment and/or removal to proper locations

-May drive fork-lift to load and unload trucks placing material in correct locations.

-Load/unload materials, parts, or products manually or via forklift onto or from pallets or skids

-Making and collecting kit parts to complete shop orders.

-Maintain accurate inventory records & know how to check against them, cycle count & troubleshoot errors.

-Follow company safety practices and procedures to provide a safe work environment for all employees.

-Perform all other duties, as required, to meet customer and company quality and productivity needs.

-Assist fellow employees with ad-hoc duties as required & other duties as assigned by the supervisor.



What do you bring to the role?

-Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electric and brake systems, as well as highly skilled with use of all hand tools, electric and air powered.

-Problem-solving capabilities.

-Skills in wire feed welder and plasma is an asset.

-Able to interpret blueprints and measuring devices.

-A keen learner who has a working background of machining or manufacturing plant experience.

-Ability to handle large workloads and maintain composure under pressure.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to follow instructions.

-Reliable and a team player.

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

-Experience with a forklift and/or forklift certificate are preferred.

-High school diploma.

-A minimum of 5 years in a similar position.
