Job Description

Working within the Drug Product Maintenance organization as an Automation technician to perform preventive maintenance (PM), modifications, installations, and general maintenance of equipment and systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc).



Requirements:



* Candidate shall possess one of the following:



* Electrical license with automation and instrumentation experience

* Associates Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical, Engineering

* Equivalent automation and instrumentation experience (5 yrs minimum)



* High school diploma / general education degree (GED) required

* The Automation Technician shall be required to have understanding and perform the following:



* Automation hardware procurement, assembly, installation and qualification to include hardware placement, signal wire routing and connection, wire separation, power and environmental verification, and drawing verification

* Checkout/qualification of electrical input/output signals and related signal wiring for field instrumentation and devices

* Automation system software installation, configuration and qualification

* Installation, configuration and deployment of control systems software and associated hardware platforms

* Install, maintain, and inspect control system and workstation installations throughout the facility. Inspect and review manufacturing equipment installations for design and troubleshooting purposes.

* Interface daily with computers, performing data entry and information retrieval.

* Utilize tools of the trade to include basic tools and electrical signal measuring and calibration devices

* Checkout/qualification of electrical input/output signals and related signal wiring for field instrumentation and devices

* Install, calibrate, maintain, and inspect process systems throughout the facility.

* Troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs and/or DCSs.

* Troubleshooting and maintaining variable frequency drives



* This position will be routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, dusty and dirty conditions. The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must. Also, this position requires stooping, bending and ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to pass aseptic gowning qualification.

* Must be able to work variable shifts and overtime as required.
