Job Description

Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Team assemblers can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. May participate in making management decisions affecting the work. Team leaders who work as part of the team should be included.



JOB SUMMARY:



Production Associates are accountable for safe and effective execution of production operations following standardized work as well as support operations that include 5S, daily management support, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). They are expected to build capability to proficiently execute multiple jobs to standard and participate in regular job rotation.Production Associates must show accountability for operational problems by participating in the development and implementation of short- and long-term countermeasures. Moreover, they are accountable to improve standardized work and production operations in general by contributing, and assisting in testing and implementing, new approaches and concepts. When they work alongside other team members who are being trained in their job, they should support that individual's learning through the job-instruction-training (JIT) method. Since Production Associates have responsibilities described above, they are empowered as well with authority in their respective working areas.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



1. High school education and diploma (or GED equivalent)

2. Experience using a variety of hand and power tools preferred



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



1. The individual must be flexible relative to the work schedule including possible mandatory overtime.

2. Shows passion (demonstrates pride, enthusiasm, engagement, positive attitude and energy)

3. Accountable to work unsupervised

4. Accountable for predictable attendance

5. Ability to compare work against provided quality standards and distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable tolerances

6. Willing to cross-train and work in other areas.



PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:



1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear

3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

6. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand

8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
