BUYER Purchasing

Report - VP of Business Administration

Position Summary:

Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for production and distribution. Negotiate prices and get multiple quotes for comparison. Purchase raw or semi-finished materials for manufacturing. Maintain purchasing agreements with suppliers. Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties which includes computer works, scheduling on time deliveries and managing purchase variances.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the procurement of parts and materials for production and maintaining stock inventory. Monitors inventory levels and coordinates with departments to ensure that operations are smooth and uninterrupted. Performs miscellaneous purchasing functions as required.

Locates, compares, and negotiates parts and prices with vendors. Researches and analyzes vendors, develops vendor/supplier sources, prepares bids, and assists in negotiating contracts.

Ensures that supplies, equipment, and services purchased are of acceptable quality and at the least possible cost.

Manage and keep purchasing agreements with suppliers up-to-date.

Manage inventory levels at suppliers to ensure accuracy

Completes related purchasing orders and reports, and maintains files.

Assists in developing, implementing, and reviewing purchasing policies, procedures, and systems.

Assists in training, directing, and appraising department personnel.Prepares timely reports of purchasing activities and market research in order to enhance communications


Education & Experience:

3+ years' buying experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree a definite plus!!

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Others:

Prepares timely reports of purchasing activities and market research in order to enhance communication within IRIS organization as well as within group.

Good negotiation skills are necessary.

Scheduling experience is required and ability to work with other departments.

Exceptional computer skills including MS Excel a must.

Excellent communication and organizational skills and attention to detail are a requisite.

Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
