Job Description


* Maintain production equipment to minimize equipment down-time

* Troubleshoots and repairs equipment - return equipment to full production capability

* Works with the maintenance team to identify the root cause

* Installation of new equipment

* Troubleshoot problems to affect complex repairs by referring to equipment manuals and following repair procedures, so equipment can be operational with a minimum of downtime.

* Process the necessary paperwork involved in daily work such as preventative maintenance work orders, purchase requisitions, and other documents

* Advanced preventive maintenance work on the most complex - ensure minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment so production targets are achieved

* Inspect and test machinery and equipment

* Set up and operate machine tool equipment in the maintenance area as well as the basic operation of most production equipment such as drill presses, vertical mills, band saws, cut off saws, engine lathes, gas, arc, mig, and tig welding equipment as may be necessary to fabricate, repair and/or duplicate parts required to maintain and repair equipment

* Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment Provide work leadership to lower-level Maintenance Technicians. May participate in a task force to improve company procedures or operations


* Some college coursework completed in a technical field and 5-6 years of experience working in a Maintenance position in a manufacturing environment is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered

* Certification as Limited Maintenance Electrician preferred

* Advanced knowledge - troubleshooting, replacing, and working on Servo drives AC and DC

* Advanced knowledge - troubleshooting and working on CNC controls

* Diagnose, program, repair, or replace PLC systems and controls

* Diagnose and repair machine mechanical systems including but not limited to changing ball screws, drives, and drive motors, clutches, and spindle bearings

* Must be able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics

* Tasks may include installing machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings

* 5 years of experience working on CNC equipment

* Ability to read and make changes to machine code to support manufacturing requirements

* Advanced knowledge and capable of troubleshooting and replacement of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems with the ability to take voltage, amperage, Ohm, pressure, and/or flow reading per ladder and schematic diagrams and determine values

* Electrical/electronic knowledge/skill include but not limited to controls, magnetic starters, rotary switches, relays, solenoids, brakes, input/output devices for PLC's, CNC, and standard electrical wiring principles for AC (up to 480v. three-phase) and DC systems

* Advanced knowledge of linear and rotary drives including but not limited to ball screws, right angle, gear reducers, variable speed, rack and pinion, belt and chain, and hydraulic and pneumatic

* Advanced knowledge Preventive and Predictive Maintenance practices to drive continuous improvement

* Ability to be certified to operate forklifts, scissors lift, overhead cranes, and hoists to assist in material

* Lockout/Tagout procedures for all types of equipment, proper handling of solvents and chemicals according
