Chief Engineer (3rd Class) - $35.00 per hour

What's the job?

* Directly supervises all Power Engineers in the Plant Engineering department.

* Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

* Manage resource (personnel, materials, subcontracts, etc.) planning and allocation, assist in developing and then supports the tracking of all engineering project plans, schedules, and costs with sensitivity to concurrent manufacturing requirements when planning

* Responsible for the operation, preventative maintenance and performance of all pressure system, refrigeration systems, general utilities including Compressed Air, Nitrogen and Water, and component parts, as per requirements of the Engineering Act.

* Provides all necessary information to ensure that the Preventative Maintenance Program is up to date for boiler, refrigeration and general utilities equipment.

* Researches sourcing of material/parts/equipment. Fills out purchase requisitions for same. Works with the Purchasing Department to resolve procurement issues.

* Oversee work performed by outside contractors related to area of supervision.

* Assists in the validation of equipment, systems and facility to meet GMP requirements. This includes the updates, review and filing of engineering documentation.

* Develops SOPS, and STMs for related equipment.

* Provides input to and supports the tracking of operating and capital budgets.

What do you bring to the job

* Third Class Power Engineering Certificate

* Minimum 5-years as a Third -Class Power Engineer

* Minimum 5-year supervisory experience

* Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Able to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Familiar with Maintenance Database systems. SAP knowledge is an asset.

* Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

* Requires flexibility to work in a fast-paced changing environment, in a participatory management structure, all with a sense of duty and responsibility.

* Must be able to provide clear criminal record check
