Job Description

Manpower is looking for permanent employment Driver Class 3 Licensed for an exciting client located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What is the job?



* Have a complete understanding of the Canadian Federal and Provincial rules and regulations relating to driver hours, driver logs, weight restrictions, height restrictions, tarp requirements

* Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers

* Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance

* Plan routes and meet delivery schedules

* Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts

* Input "macros" into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process

* Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

* Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

* Collect and verify delivery instructions

* Report defects, accidents, or violations

* Other duties as required by the immediate Supervisor



What do you bring to the job?



* A High School Diploma or GED equivalency

* A minimum of 3-5 years of related dispatch experience

* Class 3, with air brake endorsement Driver's License

* O.T. rules and regulations related to over the road carriers and local deliveries

* Must have the ability to work long and strenuous (working) hours and endure poor weather conditions

* Must be punctual and dependable - absences must be kept at a minimum, scheduling time off to effectively staff department

* Must have the ability to deal with the suppliers in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner

* Ability to work 8 to 12 hours a day

* Ability to pass a background check and substance test.

* Must have own transportation

* Able to start work immediately
