Detail Scheduler I

Position Summary:



Under the direction of the area management, coordinate and track all component material and finished good production in the department. Duties include accurate record keeping of production reported data, WIP counts, reject rates and material losses a component. Assist the production scheduler in the preparation of work orders and act as the scheduler's backup if required. Assist the scheduler and provide service to other departments in performing the procurement and inventory management functions for assigned production line. Perform duties as required to assure that a continued supply of acceptable quality materials, goods and services is maintained within the company.



Responsibilities: Essential Duties



* Compare actual material use and rejects for all components and finished goods to established standards and call attention to variances. Establish and maintain tracking systems for department's materials and production.

* Control the following accounting forms: requisitions, move to stock quarantine material movement, work in progress monthly inventory and quality control-re-inspections.

* Track all incoming and outgoing components for the department and product movement between work centers. Track the daily work in progress and use this inventory in ordering material. Write the material requisitions as needed.

* Order, review for accuracy and distribute completed batch records to the appropriate individuals.

* Act as the backup scheduler as required.

* Assist production personnel with monthly inventories.

* Under direction from the Scheduler, utilize inventory status reports to assist Scheduler in the planning and generation of purchase requirements.

* Under supervision of the Scheduler, interact with suppliers as necessary.

* Create computer spreadsheets, graphs and word processing documents in support of the Scheduler's requirements.

* Prepare supplier correspondence.

* Assist the Scheduler in the processing of purchase requisitions and the placement of purchase orders/change orders.

* Input purchase order data into the department's purchasing information system.

* Follow-up on purchase orders ensuring timely deliveries.

* Expedite/de-expedite shipments from suppliers, receipt of goods, releasing of materials as required.

* Generate and follow-up Vendor Corrective Action (VCA) notice to suppliers.

* On a routine basis, assist the Scheduler in prioritizing material releases.



Expertise: Knowledge & Skills



* Knowledge of company systems such as SAP. Basic level of purchasing and inventory management practices.

* Strong mathematics skills.

* Demonstrate excellent initiative when performing job tasks.

* Communicate with external departments and suppliers effectively.

* Complete work assignments within established deadline.

* Organize and prioritize work assignments.



Qualifications/Required:



* High school diploma or equivalent.

* 2-3 years previous purchasing or scheduling experience.

* Microsoft Office computer skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Excellent phone skills.

* Work in a factory environment.
