Job Description
Manpower is seeking a Patient Financial Services Manager for a local health-care provider. The Patient Financial Services Manager will direct, evaluate, supervise and coordinate all activities of the medical facility, medical services business office. This is an interim opportunity offering full-time hours and a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
Job Duties:
Supervises the operations of the business offices in each area in a
cost efficient and customer service oriented manner.
Manages, monitors and accountable for the A/R for each of these
areas.
Directs and coordinates the credit and collection activities for
each area. Monitors outside collection agency efforts.
Directs and coordinates the billing and follow-up activities for
each area.
Oversees billing and record-keeping.
Develop and implement standardized policies and procedures for each
area to effectively manage cash flow, control patient accounts
receivables, to comply with regulations governing billing practices
and to enhance the overall business office operations.
Provide education and orientation to the staff and maintains
individual growth in the position.
Evaluate and implement policies regarding
departmental revenue procedures for patient charges.
Effectively communicate reimbursement and other business office
issues to the various department directors in coordination to
maximum reimbursement.
Selects, trains, orients, supervises and evaluates all personnel in
these areas.
Gather, prepare and report data for fiscal, statistical and
planning purposes.
Establish goals and benchmark standards to improve business office
operational efficiency.
Successfully passes all JCAHO accreditation surveys without Type I
recommendations.
Keeps the CFO fully informed of all significant developments and events.
Demonstrate excellence in customer service skills while fostering an an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
Participate in quality improvement activities including serving on
quality improvement teams.
Performs other duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (or related field) - Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Management.
Four years of managerial supervision and financial management preferably in healthcare accounts receivable management.
