Disability Case Manager (Hybrid) - Vancouver

Manpower has an immediate opening for a Disability Case Manager for our client located in Vancouver, BC.

What is the job?
* Proactively manage assigned disability claims by evaluation of medical information and job duties, and length of disability.
* Evaluate the extent of the disability by communicating with the applicant and the employer, and continue with ongoing updates.
* Conduct medical investigation through written or verbal means to the applicant, employer, physicians and other medical service providers.
* Communicate with all affected parties of decisions regarding disability cases.
* Implement return-to-work programs and conduct employer negotiations.
* Evaluate health care coordination and rehabilitation programs to ensure they have positive effects.
* Adhere to service level agreements associated with policy holder claims.
* Respond to all telephone inquiries made by the applicant, physicians, lawyers, regarding the assessment of the claims.
* Other ad hoc duties as necessary.
What do you bring to the job
* Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
* Experience or equivalent training in one of the following areas: disability insurance, life and health insurance or human resources is preferred.
* Possess strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
* Planning, organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.
* Must be resilient, effective communicator, and a solutions-oriented problem-solver.
* A Team Player who is also able to work independently.
* Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
* Must consent to a criminal background check at the company's expense.
