Job Description

EHS Specialist, Sr. | Tomah, WI | Direct hire, Full Time | Needs to be Onsite | $75k-$100k


* Educate site leadership and staff on their role in managing EHS activities for their areas responsibility

* Partner with leadership to develop and achieve annual EHS goals

* Research, plan and promote EHS awareness through specific training programs which includes safety and environmental orientation content, monthly safety training, and weekly/daily safety training

* Complete routine EHS audits, assign and drive corrective actions to closure

* Perform BBS observations on the production floor

* Create/update JHA's and ensure results are incorporated into job training

* Maintain effective and timely communication with regards to EHS suggestions, concerns, and corrective/preventative actions

* Understand Federal and State of Wisconsin environmental and occupational safety and health regulations ensure compliance, and implement regulatory changes as they occur

* Responsible for all environmental recordkeeping and administration. This includes: Ensuring compliance with all permits and exclusions (air, stormwater, waste water, hazardous waste, Tier II) operating conditions and regulatory standards.

* Maintain ISO 14001 Environmental certification

* Incorporate Lean Methods to drive improvements in proactive EHS performance

* Coordinate workers' compensation claims management

* Review injury, illness, and hazardous conditions and near-miss incident investigation reports and follow-up with complete corrective action

* Responsible for OSHA recordkeeping and annual safety calendar of activities

* Direct activities of the safety committee, medical response team, and periodic conduct emergency response drills

* Coordinate respirator fit testing and audiometric testing

* Coordinate the purchase of EHS related tools and equipment and oversee EHS budget

* Manage EHS project work and see them to completion


* Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or in a related field. Advanced degree and/or EHS certification a plus.

* At least 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment

* ASP, CSP, CIH certification highly desired or must be able to obtain within 3 years of accepting position
