Job Description

Manpower Engineering is seeking a local Quality Control Inspector that knows electronic components and IPC soldering standards for our client in the Kokomo, Indiana area. This person will inspect electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications. Direct hire/perm opportunity. Summary of what you'd be doing:



* Performs incoming inspection of all circuit boards.

* Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware and components to detect assembly errors.

* Compares circuit board assemblies with BOM and schematics to detect wrong or missing hardware.

* Examines solder joints on PCBs and cable connections to detect soldering defects or omissions.

* Examines alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions.

* Twists dials, knobs, shafts and gears to verify freedom of movement.

* Traces cables and harness assemblies, following cable wiring diagram, to verify routing of the wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to established standards.

* Checks plated areas for defects, uniformity and damage.

* Verifies location of bolts and rivet holes.

* Examines parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches and pinholes.

* Examines product documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting and testing steps were performed according to specifications.

* Enters defects into database.

* Records inspection data such as TQSID or serial number, type and percent of defects and rework required.







Here's a summary of who we're seeking:



* Associates degree or equivalent two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Familiarity with IPC standards for soldering components and cable assemblies

* Able to identify; e.g., shorts, opens, plating defects, measling and vias for solderability and connectivity

* Good communication skills required-listening, written, and oral

* Computer literate

* Ability to read schematics and blueprints desired

* Dependable; good work ethic
