Job Description

On behalf of our client we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing organization in a power distribution equipment company in Houston. If you are interested in showcasing your capabilities and joining as an expert electrical engineer working with both internal and external stakeholders.

We are in search of an Electrical Engineer who will spearhead the design of low and medium voltage systems. In this role you will spearhead the local Houston team through the process of design, development, manufacturing, and implementation of heavily engineered electrical systems that are customer focused and driven.

Job Responsibilities:

- Execute the design, implementation, and refinement of new and existing product and process development while balancing order fulfillment workflow

- Develop new, and improve existing, product development processes to achieve significantly greater speed, scale, and accuracy

- Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and Lean methodology

- Facilitate daily support of manufacturing/ production efforts and challenges

- Vet new opportunities, provide quote packages, and recommend product changes/improvements to enhance product manufacturability and/or reduce cost

- Oversee the review, approval, and release of drawings, analysis, test plans, and other electrical engineering documentation

- Establish technical standards in reviews, documentations and designs

- Participate in brainstorm sessions, and collaborate with cross functional discipline leaders and teams to define requirements and specifications for products and subsystems

- Support and conduct design reviews per established project plan

- Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships


- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited University

- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (private, public, government or military)

- Experience in low and medium voltage equipment design and manufacturing, testing, applicable standards, and safety

- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks

- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

- Demonstrated & effective leadership style with a positive and proactive approach to supervision with the proven ability to build high performing teams

- Strong communications skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization

- Ability to adapt & thrive in a fast-paced/high growth work environment

- Proficiency with major ERP and CAD systems

- Experience in the design of complex high, medium, and low voltage power systems, electrical equipment upgrades, arc flash hazards analysis, switchgear, motor control centers, drives, lighting, emergency power and power distribution equipment is desired

- Familiarity with compliance and safety driven design implications. Particularly, UL, ETL, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA 70E

- Microsoft Office proficient
