Job Description

Our client, located in Hamilton is looking for a licensed Electrician. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.



Responsibilities

* Responsible for all aspects of electrical equipment and processes to be performed to electrical code requirements.

* Develop a quick response to troubleshoot breakdowns or other electrical and mechanical deficiencies.

* Assist in establishing procedures, instructions, planning & executing preventative/predictive maintenance throughout the plant.

* Provide predictive maintenance on electrical panels, devices, motor brushes, thermal imaging, motor loading, thermocouples, etc.

* Assess, dismantle, modify, repair/rebuild equipment and put back into service in a timely manner.

* Work from and/or design electrical/mechanical drawings, sketches, and blueprints.

* Maintain and set-up of gas, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, chemical and other plant utilities.

* Develop quick responses to emergency faults to minimize downtime

* Emergency startups & shut down of specific pieces of equipment throughout the facility.

* Maintain and set-up various electrical motors, starters, relays, solenoids, selector switches, RPM/strain gauges and other electronic devices.

* Understanding of all processes throughout the plant to be able to properly maintain the equipment. Experience in: Coatings, Chemical Heat treating, Stamping, Gas generating, Steam, Compressed air, Hydraulic equipment is an asset.

* Implementing new technologies. Ex. PLC programming, servo feed units, lighting, HVAC, etc.

* Operating forklift trucks including man lifts for overhead rigging & lifting of the equipment and personnel.

Job Qualifications

* 2 - 5 years' work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

* Certification of Qualification (Electrician) - 442A or 309A or D License.

* Understand and use of electrical/electronic theories and calculations as well as mechanical principles (i.e. gearing, leverages, tolerances and a variety of materials).

* Understanding of Ontario Electrical Code and CSA Standards.

* Familiarity with the following would be an asset but not a requirement: maintaining of Surface Combustion-Endothermic Generators (process controller).

* Familiarity with IATF 6949 & ISO 14001 procedures and standards an asset.
