Job Description

2nd Shift - Electromechanical Technician - Conducts, maintains, tests and repairs mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.

Inspects, installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives and test equipment. Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment. Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in accordance with OSHA requirements. Advises operators of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components. Informs appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved. Performs machine ownership responsibilities on assigned equipment in an effort to exceed expectations of ensuring equipment is in proper working condition to meet safety, quality and productivity expectations. Performs preventative maintenance and communicates project updates. Coordinates and performs work orders. Manages and performs project assignments. Develops, coordinates and performs improvement ideas. Recommends and implements continuous improvement ideas. Maintains tools and equipment so they are in good working condition. Develops relationships and willingly assists and trains production, maintenance and others to effectively perform processes and operate equipment in a timely and cost effective way. Assists in developing the department's Standard Operating Procedures. Follows all Inland policies while working with Hazardous Waste.



Essential skills and experience: High school diploma or general education degree, , 3- 5 years of work experience within a manufacturing environment, Preferred. Understanding of open and closed loop controls, drive systems. Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic programming. Should have basic knowledge of PLC theory of operation and be able to use multimeter to troubleshoots. Understanding of Windows Operating System. Good math skills. Detail oriented. Analytical and Problem solver



Nonessential skills and experience: An associate degree as an Electromechanical Technician



Work Environment:

Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented manufacturing environment with frequent changes and interruptions, and multiple project assignments. Works with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, managers, and executives. Routine inspection, testing, grading, sorting, sampling, or weighing of assembled electronic units. Work may be performed before, during, or after processing. May require formal training. Work does not require process development, in-depth analysis, or product re-engineering.
