Manpower Engineering is seeking someone with some electronic component/circuit board knowledge who can write assembly instruction for the shop floor. Location is the Kokomo, Indiana area. (Actual title is Product Engineering Technician but bulk of work will involve writing). Direct hire/perm opportunity. Very stable company offering career advancement. Nice benefit package.
Summary of what you'd be doing:
* ~90% of this job will be technical writing. Will be taking customer documentation and create work instructions for the production floor to be able to assemble the product (circuit board assemblies and systems).
* Enters Bills-of-Material (BOM)and checks against customer documentation.
* Pulls, reviews and updates assembly files for repeat builds and prepares for sign-off by product engineer.
* In addition to creating assembly documentation, will do some testing and troubleshooting of assemblies and components by following schematics. May also recommend changes in circuitry or specs to simplify assembly and maintenance. May also build cables, fixtures, and enclosures according to drawings/wiring diagrams.
Who we're looking for?
* Prefer Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) with one to two years related experience and/or training.
* Strong writing kills - be able to take technical information and put in layman terms.
* Good understanding of electronic components (ability to identify components and understand their function).
* Ability to read and understand technical diagrams/schematics.
* Good communication skills required-listening, written, and oral.
