Job Description

GENERAL INFORMATION



Title: Engineering Coordinator - Coatings



SUMMARY

Provide leadership to associates through daily supervision and interaction. To oversee activities involved in new model development. To ensure that equipment for new models meet specifications to meet customer requirements and maintain profitability. To identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement new methods to reduce rejects and equipment related downtime. Train employees in maintaining equipment.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES







* Involved in process improvement efforts by troubleshooting and developing countermeasures to improve production.

* Participate in new model development regarding drawing review, start-up, design of tooling, process development, robot programming and process confirmation in order to create a competitive advantage.

* Manage capital investment projects to ensure timely and budgetary specifications for the completion of all group projects.

* Provide technical support to production, process, and maintenance groups to increase productivity.

* Provide leadership to associates through communication of expectations, feedback, and recognition to ensure full functionality of the department.

* Research and determine the most profitable way to develop new model projects in regard to existing equipment, cost, and capacity.

* Assist in development of annual budgets / targets for respective departments.

* Address other issues and/or assume other responsibilities as opportunities arise.

* Perform other duties, tasks, or projects at the direction of the assistant manager or manager.



REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Above: Assistant manager, manager, chief engineer

Below: Engineers



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* 3 years engineering experience.

* 1 year supervisory or leadership experience.

* FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) experience.

* Knowledge of robotic spray painting and vacuum metalizing preferred.

* Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

* Some familiarity with PLC programming.

* Demonstrate knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or Catia.

* Automotive background preferred.

* Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.

* Proven project management skills.

* Proven analytical ability.

* Demonstrate prioritization ability.

* Proven multi-tasking skills.



EDUCATION REQUIRED

* Associate degree in engineering or greater



WORKING CONDITIONS

General Office Environment (6) hours per day

Manufacturing Environment (2) hour per day

Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.
