Job Description

Our client is looking for an Engineering Manager to join there team in High Point, NC.

Position Description:

This position ensures compliance of Quality Assurance standards and procedures within the Engineering Design Department. Must be able to communicate directly with customers, end users, engineers, designers and the Production S.P.O.C. to facilitate a smooth flow of information. The job requires the individual to lead a team of engineers, taking a product from concept to final approved submittal and Production Design turnover. This position ensures that customer's needs are met and/or exceeded, and was company standards in place as they relate to engineering drawings and data.

Job Responsibilities:

* Manage and support Engineering Department

* Review Project Engineering progress from a scheduling standpoint to ensure projects are Released for Construction on schedule

* Review Project Leader MEP component selections and B.O.M. before components are ordered (Fans/Coils/Dust Collector/Switchgear/etc.)

* Forward reviewed MEP component selections and B.O.M. to Procurement Department for purchasing

* Evaluate the performance of Engineering personnel to ensure everyone works efficiently and expeditiously

* Develop systematic processes for completion of Engineering tasks in order to optimize Engineering Department performance


* This position requires a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or practical experience determined by senior management.

* This position also requires a minimum of five years applied experience.

* Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education if determined by Senior Management

Job Requirements / Special Skills:

* Competent Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, Adobe Acrobat)

* Good documentation and communication skills

* Vision for success and ability to develop quality staff members

* Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills, coaching, and problem solving

* An advanced understanding of product design and operations

* The ability to coordinate multiple projects, people and functions
