Job Description

Title: Engineering Technician II - $27-28 an hour



Location: Round Lake, IL



Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension/conversion



Description

Work on assignments that are simple or moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Apply basic techniques and procedures to assigned projects



Responsibilities





* Responsible for performing a wide variety of research and/or development laboratory tasks and experiments.

* Completes work you're leading on time with mentorship and support.

* Capable of using handheld and bench test equipment to obtain test data.

* May make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.

* Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.

* May also develop and maintain record keeping for experiment performed.

* Perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.

* Individual usually is assigned routine assembly and testing portions of projects (e.g. Product performance testing).

* Seeks guidance from more experienced individuals to improve quality of deliverables.



Qualifications:





* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Previous experience working in a laboratory testing setting

* Basic computer skills such as word processing, data entry, excel, and e-mail

* Basic science and/or math skills

* Experience with troubleshooting laboratory equipment (e.g., Instron, etc.) and providing solutions

* Experience using good documentation practices

* Knowledge of GMPs

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.





Education/Experience

* High School Degree, or GED

* Previous experience working in a laboratory testing setting

* Basic Microsoft Office skill with Word, Excel, Outlook
