Location: Option of Chatham, North York or Markham

Duration: 12-month contract with review and renew

What will you be doing?

* Responsible for leading the environmental planning and identifying environmental requirements for pipeline construction projects

* Responsible for managing environmental assessment process with environmental consultant and project team

* Responsible for developing scopes of work, identifying environmental requirements, reviewing reports prepared by environmental consultants and providing guidance and recommendations to business on environmental findings

* Preparing and reviewing responses, correspondence and reports for internal and external stakeholders including the Ontario Energy Board for projects meeting Leave-to-Construct criteria

* Participating in and leading meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to discuss environmental objectives, develop strategies to meet environmental requirements, and identify tactics for resolving environmental issues

* Supporting the business (including key contractors) with all types of day-to-day environmental inquiries, including providing timely response to environmental issues from field locations across the company

What will you bring?

* Degree in environmental science or engineering

* Professional designation in environmental field

* 7+ years applied, progressive environmental experience

* Demonstrated broad understanding and application of provincial and federal environmental legislation, including Ontario Energy Board environmental requirements

* Specific technical knowledge and applied experience related to environmental planning and permitting and Environmental Impact Assessments for pipeline/infrastructure construction projects in Ontario

* Excellent interpersonal skills to actively participate, collaborate, and support teamwork within environmental and project teams and build positive relationships

* Team-oriented, positive attitude, highly organized, and self-directed with the desire to contribute to a dynamic and face-paced work environment
