Job Description

Equipment Coordinator

Carrier Rental Systems provides year-round solutions for temperature control, power generation, or special event needs by renting and selling HVAC equipment during emergency breakdowns, planned outages, equipment retrofits, and plant expansions.

Carrier Rental Systems is seeking a motivated, energetic, customer-focused individual to join the organization as an Equipment Coordinator to support our _____ Depot.

This position is responsible for assisting with equipment scheduling, maintenance, repair, and quality control, as well as shipping and receiving with respect to the rental equipment fleet.


* Equipment Responsibilities

o Schedule preventive maintenance with the Lead Tech and Depot Manager

o Verify equipment returning to the yard matches the original bill of lading

o Establish and maintain spare parts and equipment inventories

o Maintain record of service activities including closing out jobs on the schedule board when completed

o Maintain trailer inspections and registrations

o Maintain active task list for equipment repairs in the yard and schedule operational inspections on all active rental equipment

o Perform quality control with respect to billing for damaged equipment and missing accessories on returned equipment

o Assist Depot Manager in minimizing job site repair expenses, as well as intra-depot freight expenses

o Conduct applicable safety inspections on a timely basis (office, warehouse, equipment yard, records and fire extinguisher)

o Operate equipment including vehicles and forklifts

o Help load and unload trucks as needed

* Customer Satisfaction

o Interact with customers to determine appropriate service requirements

o Keep customers and salespeople informed on all orders and releases

o Direct sales leads to sales people, when appropriate

o Log daily service calls and ensure prompt closure

o Review the prior week's service call activity

o Coordinate and assist Depot Manager with technician and subcontractor and other depot activities

* Buildings and Grounds Maintenance

o Coordinate forklift and facility maintenance

* Daily Tasks

o Ensure 100 percent accuracy of equipment status and availability in rental agreement system

o Revise the shipping and receiving list


* High school diploma or equivalent required with 5+ years of relevant experience

* Associate's Degree, skilled trades apprenticeship, or HVAC technical certification preferred

* Commercial HVAC experience and/or Rentals experience preferred

* Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

* Strong teamwork and communication skills

* Proficiency with MS Office Suite

* Must adhere to all EH&S policies and standards

* Ability to work on-call and/or overtime as required to support the business

Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions with exposure to outdoor temperature variations, noise, vibrations, gas or fumes, grease, cleaning solvents, degreasing agents, machinery and its moving parts, odors, and dust particles.
