Job Description

Manpower is currently seeking an Equipment Technical Associate working in the Alcon Irvine, CA facility. The equipment technical associate is responsible for day-to-day manufacturing equipment and project support in support of full-scale manufacturing operations for a medical device company. The equipment technical associate will work towards reduced production downtime and improved efficiencies and yields by performing equipment troubleshooting, repair, calibration, maintenance, and validation activities. The equipment technical associate will perform multiple tasks and projects across the business individually, on assigned teams, and will assist and interact with Manufacturing Engineers, Product Line Supervisors, Production Leads, etc.



Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Learn quickly and pass all job-specific training and/or certifications required for core tasks and specialized assignments

* Self-manage dynamic workload meeting and exceeding performance goals at expected quality levels

* Understand, comply with, and author procedures, schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, assessments, validations, technical reports, and other documentation as needed.

* Execute Calibration and Preventive Maintenance activities

* Maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve both product and equipment issues for electro-mechanical and optical systems, automation, tools, and fixtures.

* Support automated manufacturing and test equipment including programming and debug

* Validate and implement new fixtures, tools, equipment, metrology, automation and their associated processes

* Suggest and execute improvements to procedures, processes, and equipment

* Participate in team projects that develop improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance operational efficiencies and product quality

* Provide timely verbal and written status updates to production and team on activities and timing regarding production disruptions and projects

Required Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* 5+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in an equipment support role

* Demonstrated hands on expertise in product, equipment, and metrology maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair

* Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

* Clear understanding and ability to utilize and create procedures, mechanical drawings, schematics, system diagrams, and other technical documentation

* Must have the ability to work independently, self-manage their time, and be comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines on a daily basis

Preferred Qualifications:

* BS, AS, AA in electronics, engineering, or other related disciplines

* Experience working with Medical Device and/or Vision Care products

* Experience with installing, validating, programming, operating, and maintaining manufacturing and test equipment

* Demonstrated understanding and experience in PCB electronic troubleshooting and repairs
