Job Description

This temporary position is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately; taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management.

The responsibilities also include identifying and assisting with the elimination of product concerns, and supporting programs such as HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and RTR (Real Time Results). In addition, this position is responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality. It involves collecting meat samples, Review Food Safety, Quality, and related documentation and keep track of paperwork and file using Microsoft software and SAP.

Conduct routine checks and testing in support of company policies and procedures, including but not limited to product sampling (Quarterly, USDA, etc.), swabbing (Environmental & Construction), vacuum tests, leakers, shelf life, color measurement, pH, direct observations (CCP), inspection, and temperature verification checks for all assigned areas. Conduct Food Safety and Quality related audits - internal, external, MI, product process. Conduct Pre-operational inspections. Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system and report any issues to Management and team members. Assist with Food Safety training as needed. Any additional assignments requested.

All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety and perform any other duties as assigned Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in industry required or other QA type experience. Computer Skills: Must have basic computer skills. Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
