Manpower is currently looking for General Laborers - General Maintenance (Outdoors) for temporary to permanent full-time role with one of our city clients in the Downtown Area. These position starts immediately

To qualify for this role, it is vital that you:

* High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

* Experience operating small equipment and tools, such as utility vehicles, pressure washers, snow plows and other as needed

* Experience in landscaping and plant care

* Skilled in manual trades; aptitude to undertake small maintenance repairs, painting, and finishing work.

* Understanding of Safe Work procedures and practices

* Possess a positive attitude with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

* Availability to work outdoors with outstanding organizational and communication skills.

* Keen Attention to Detail, Ability to Lift Heavy Objects, Ability to Stay on Feet for Long Periods of Time

* Ability to Work Well on a Team but Be Self-Motivated and Independent at Times

* Able to Start Immediately

Essential Functions

Primary Job Tasks:

* Undertake planting, maintaining, watering, dead heading, weeding and removal of the annual flowers and baskets in the various districts.

* Assist the place-making department with annual flower installations and support the planning process.

* Assist the place-making department with the installation of pop up areas and other place-making infrastructure.

* Clean and maintain bus shelters including removing loose litter in the area and power washing/deodorizing floors and windows and chipping snow away from shelter doors (in winter months).

* During winter months sand bus shelters and sidewalks, where required.

* Remove posters from bus shelters, light poles and other non-approved areas in the various districts.

* Bio-hazard clean up and removal around pop up locations

* Other duties as assigned including event set up and take down and infrastructure installation

Conditions of Employment

* Ability to work in all weather conditions year round

* Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as required

* Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and over uneven terrain

* Physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the position including walking, shoveling, bending, reaching, crouching and lifting to 50 lbs.

* Ability to work within 2:00PM to 11:00PM Monday to Friday
