Job Description


Requiring a strong attention to detail and desire to ensure products retain the highest quality standards for our clients, the Grinder operates grinding and buffing machines to provide finished parts per engineering specifications. The Grinder works collaboratively with other internal stakeholders and utilizes their hands on knowledge to ensure the finishing touches are completed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Sets up and adjusts grinding equipment for various lengths and diameters.

* Inspects product to ensure they remain compliant with specifications.

* Selects appropriate abrasives for proper ID and OD grinding.

* Uses various pneumatic Die grinders to finish and blend welds.

* Mounts parts and operates a lathe to turn parts while applying abrasives to finish.

* Uses a buffing wheel to buff out and finish parts.

* Stop any machine upon discovery of a problem and make necessary adjustments or ask for assistance, to minimize downtime.


Qualifications, Education & Experience

* High school diploma and 2-5 years' experience as a grinder or similar job required.

* Good mechanical aptitude.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read schematics and/or blueprints.

* Attention to detail.

* Ability to use and read a tape measure.

* Willingness to learn new skills and work with others to achieve a common goal.

* Experience with Hand and Power tools preferred.
