Our client, a truck equipment supplier, is seeking a Heavy Mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills and be a collaborative team player. This is a permanent opporutnity with benefits based in Albany, NY.

Job Title: Heavy Mechanic

Location: Albany, NY

Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30pm Monday to Friday

Salary Range: $45,000-70,000

What’s the Job?

• Diagnose and repair trailers and heavy/light truck equipment and complete installation of truck equipment including without limitation: snowplows, liftgates, hoists, van and dump bodies
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on trailer and truck equipment including routine technical repairs and make recommendations for future repairs
• Document work order details within the Company’s internal order and billing program
• Work independently and finish jobs at the quoted time on brake systems, hydraulics, welding, riveting, metal fabrication, trailer body and floor repairs, suspension troubleshooting and repairs, door repairs, and other trailer and truck equipment systems of all types.

What’s Needed?

• Positive, can-do attitude
• Active Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Must provide own hand tools
• Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with other employees, management, and customers.
