Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Human Resource Administrator for a company on Evansville's westside. The role is expected to last 6 months with a possibility of extension. The pay will be between $18 - $20 an hour pending experience.

The Human Resources Admin plans, directs, and coordinates functions related to the organizations' employees. They develop, implement, and maintain human resources policies, procedures, and forms; assist and support department managers and employees regarding business and personnel issues; and maintain personnel records in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.


* The HR Admin supports recruitment, interviewing and hiring of employees.

* Implement, and update personnel policies, procedures and forms. Stay current with laws and regulations affecting personnel issues (Equal employment, employee safety, etc.), employment practices or trends and recommends new or revised policies and procedures as appropriate.

* Assist and support department heads and all employees regarding business personnel issues. Answers employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.

* Prepare job descriptions, coordinate ongoing recruitment programs, submit job posting, respond to inquiries from applications, screen applicants and prepare background checks on Nationwide Screening Services.

* Prepare and send offer letters to new employees

* Prepare new hire packet; establish and maintain personnel records and reports.

* Maintains company organization charts and employee directory

* Maintain HR system from onboarding, exits, updates and leaves.

* Process Employee Exit Procedure

* Ensure that new hires complete paperwork and training

* Oversee company websites and social media, coordination with graphic designer, update kitchen monitor monthly

* Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)

* Answer employees queries about HR-related issues

* Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)

* Arrange travel accommodations and process expense forms

* Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event)


* Proven work experience as an HR Administrator, HR Administrative Assistant or relevant role

* Experience with HR software, like HRIS or HRMS

* Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects

* Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills

* BS in Human Resources or relevant field preferred

* Disciplined self-starter; collaborative team player; detail-oriented and follow-through abilities

* Uses independent judgment; Takes ownership of work and demonstrates a willingness to accept responsibility, and is thoughtful in decision-making

* Ability to manage workflow in a fast-paced environment with multiple, and sometimes changing priorities

* Ability to manage independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously

* A "can do" / "whatever it takes" resourceful attitude with customer-service orientation

* Advanced written and verbal communication skills

* Strong working knowledge of Web search engines, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
