Job Description

Manpower is hiring for an Import Customs and Compliance Analyst! In this role you will be responsible for preparing and filing U.S. import entries with Customs and the FDA for product clearance and release



What's in it for you:

* Pay Rate: $25 - 29.89/hr. DOE

* Monday - Friday: 8AM - 5PM (Some OT as needed)



What you will be doing:

* Filling ISF for any ocean shipment within the required time frame when new bookings are received.

* Reviewing shipping documents for accuracy and completeness and apply HTS and FDA codes for each Sku.

* Filing prior Notice as required for any import of food products (dietary supplements, raw materials, etc.)

* Creating electronic import files in BOX for shipment tracking and Customs compliance purposes upon receipt of U.S. in-bound shipments.

* Uploading all import documents related to each shipment.

* Reviewing Veterinary Health Certificate(s) against the corresponding Import Permit(s) as applicable for accuracy. Any discrepancies are to be reported to the Import Supervisor.

* Filling the entry with Customs and the FDA (if applicable) via ABI.

* Uploading import documents into Customs DIS system, and/or FDA's ITACS system if requested by either agency.

* Monitoring the entry status of each current import shipment daily and providing an update to all concerned departments of any holds or delays.

* Completing all necessary Customs and/or FDA forms to obtain shipment release.

* Processing daily duty statements.

* Reviewing Liquidation Notices to confirm duties and taxes.

* Handling all Customs, FDA, and other government agency correspondence in connection with U.S. imports which includes ATS shipments via FedEx and other courier methods.

* Reviewing TSP import freight invoices for accuracy of charges and assign G/L code and approving payment.

* Filling Non-Compliance Reports for TSP failures pertaining to imports.

* Coordinating the delivery of imports with the inland carrier.

* Entering shipment updates and details into Oracle for PAIRS reports and notify Shipping/Receiving of delivery status.

* Reviewing Receiving Report (dock receipt) for quantity and country of origin verification.

* Ensuring all import shipment data is entered into the Transportation Access Report for month end reporting purposes.

* Entering all required import data into the monthly Import Report by the 10th of each month for the prior month.

* Assisting the department Supervisor with various U.S. and global compliance projects and strategic initiatives as needed.



The skills we are looking for:

* Must have a minimum of a high school diploma

* 5 - 7 years' experience working with a Customs Brokerage firm handling import entries and product classifications

* Working knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs Regulations

* OGA knowledge, specifically FDA and USDA

* Customs Broker's License is a plus

* Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

* Experience in Google Analytics preferred

* Strong organizational skills to effectively manager

* Strong research/analytical kills

* Ability to work independently

* Excellent customer service skills

* Strong attention to detail/accuracy
