Job Description

Industrial Engineer I or Industrial Engineer II | Direct hire OR contract to hire | $71-$90k + 10% bonus | New Brighton, MN | GREAT opportunity to get into a medical device company with little to no medical device industry experience needed!!



The Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing workflow and production processes to increase efficiency and ensure final products meet the established quality standards.



Accountabilities & Responsibilities





* Serve as the technical resource for manufacturing

* Collaborate with other Engineers and SMEs to design and implement cost-effective manufacturing layouts and build ergonomics for new and existing product lines

* Design, redesign or enhance work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated

* Maintain knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, trends and developments in technology and equipment. Apply this knowledge to maintain the organization's competitive edge

* Design and develop work-holding tools, fixtures and tools in CAD including shop-ready drawings

* Understand tolerances and how they relate to manufacturing

* Create and/or improve work instructions

* Identify and assess various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices, while researching and recommending solutions

* Develop and maintain management information, planning and control systems

* Implement methods and modifications to reduce production costs

* Other duties as assigned



Education & Experience



Required:





* Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering

* 1+ year of engineering experience

* Experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma process and tools to solve logistics problems

* Experience working with MRP/ ERP systems, BOM's, Routings, work order processes, barcode systems, MRP transactional analysis, process flow, value stream maps, lean manufacturing



*Open to contract to hire for lesser experience



*Must be local to Twin Cities
