Job Description

Manpower Engineering is seeking an energetic Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to focus on lean implementation/continuous improvement for our client in the Bowling Green/Glasgow, KY area. This person will be key in leading the transformation journey of continuous improvement. Company wants to evolve their problem-solving skills, their 5s initiatives, the Value Stream Map exercises, the Kaizen and TPM events. We're looking for a person that can be self-driven, with excellent verbal and communication skills as they must convince and persuade "non-believers" in lean.



Overview of job duties:



* Lead and help implement the lean core tools across the plants (e.g. 5s, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizens, Visual Management)

* Act as a change agent for leading continuous improvement initiatives including development and delivery of lean training materials and programs

* Will analyze data pulled from machines and provide written reports that make problems and opportunities visible.

* Oversee the diagnostics of Excellence Operations projects decided upon by the leadership team

* Facilitate and lead teams in continuous improvement events

* Facilitate problem solving by leveraging/modeling continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate root causes and permanently reduce variance.

* Develop a detailed root cause analysis for each problem, where each root cause is validated through testing demonstrating that the condition or defect can be turned on or off

* Analyze lines for constraints and bottlenecks to achieve continuous flow

* Collaborate with different departments on special projects



Here's who we are seeking:



* BS degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with 1-4 years' experience. Will look at new grads with some relevant co-op experience.

* Looking for energetic engineer excited to learn and implement lean strategies.

* Preferably some training/courses in TPS, Six Sigma, Lean Certification, Shingo Institute, etc.)



* Some understanding of as many of the following would be helpful: Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Lean principals, statistics and data analysis

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams

* Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists

* Ability to learn and understand materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
