Job Description

Logistics Project Coordinator

Location: Troy Michigan

Pay Range: $73,000 - $95,000

Long Term Contract, 18 months, with option to go direct.

Essential Functions:

* Acquisition Projects - Cost: Provide acquisition team, all logistic costs & parameters required for setting up a new operation to produce the product being quoted (i.e. In-bound/out-bound packaging design & cost, In-bound/out-bound transportation density/frequency & cost, required plant space for warehouse & ship/receive docks, required number of logistic employees and equipement, days of stock required, number of system days required for returnable packaging, etc.).

* Acquisition Projects - Documentation: Follow all company procedures (i.e. PAU-PAB) and complete all required logistic documents and forms in order to successfully pass all internal gate reviews.

* Acquisition Projects - Collaboration: Collaborate with corporate teams (Industrial engineering, Purchasing, Engineering) and plant teams to assure all logistic elements are thoroughtly reviewed and will meet each team's requirements to produce the quoted product. Collaboration will also be required with end customer and all suppliers to understand their particular logistic parameters.

* Launch Projects: Manage all logistic costs, documents, gate reviews, and implementation of equipement/packaging required to successfully launch a new product. As required, provide on-site support at HBPO plant, suppliers and customers.

* Plant Support: When requested, work with plant teams to help solve logistic related issues within current production. Develop and implement comprehensive and strategic logistic concepts for assembly plants with a more profitable assembly of FEM in mind. Support customer's service parts issues regarding packaging and transportation.

* Cost Saving Initiatives: Initiate projects that will lead to cost savings (i.e. better pack density, reduction of transportation costs, consolidation of warehouse space, VSM of lift truck movements, etc.).

Professional/ Technical Training:

PC - common working knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)

Knowledge / experience in project work

Facilitator-/ presentation techniques

SAP - common working knowledge

Analysis skills

Technical understanding of product, parts and equipment

Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge:

* At least 2 years practice in technical logistics

* Automotive Industry experience

* Experience is in the following areas is a plus:

* Packaging design, development and procurement

* Transport experience (3PL, seafreight, crossborder)

* JIT / JIS process experience

* Warehouse planning

* Logistics planning and calculation in general

* Price negotiations
