Job Description

Manpower is looking to hire a temporary Inspector to begin as soon as possible. This position will be a long term temporary (1+ years) with possible hire, based upon business needs and if performance and other factors of the temporary employee are satisfactory.



Work Location: Melville, NY



Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM - with a half hour unpaid for lunch and two fifteen minute paid breaks



Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to meet work hours



Pay rate: $23.00/per hour



Summary: Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of Transportation Systems Division (TSD) units and components according to specifications.



Outline of Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to the following)



* Perform inspection on parts and sub-assemblies using inspection tools, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.



* Understand and interpret manufacturing and quality assurance procedures.



* Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) reports on incoming products.



* Perform incoming inspection on parts and sub-assemblies to verify that only defect free parts and sub-assemblies are released to the production floor.



*Perform source inspections at vendor sites and assist with vendor related issues, concerns and certification.



*Work with production on the completion and shipping of units to the production schedule.



* Assist Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineer, and/or Engineering in troubleshooting and analyzing defects and non-conformances.



* Assist production Technicians in solving assembly problems and drawing interpretation.



* Verify that open MRR lines are closed in a reasonable time frame.



*Assist Quality personnel in investigation and dispositioning MRR's.



*Interpret manufacturing information for investigation of parts or assembly problems.



*Perform final inspection to verify that only defect free units are being shipped to the Customer.



*Perform refrigerant leak checks and quality measurements as required.



*Assist with on-the-job hands on training as needed.



Education/Experience/Skills:



* High School diploma or GED plus additional trade school courses and minimum three years' prior Quality Assurance/Inspection experience, or equivalent education and experience.



* General knowledge of HVAC and/or electronic assembly systems as gained through technical training courses.



* Developed knowledge of inspection equipment: scales, squares, levels, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, gauge blocks and feeler gauges.



*Strong verbal and written communication skills.



* Basic computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.



Physical/Mental Characteristics:



Travel: Rare to none, but must have ability to travel when required.



Background, Criminal Record Check and Drug Screen - must have verified employment, education, (including High School diploma or GED, even if higher level of education achieved), clear the criminal record check and successfully pass 10 panel +2 drug screen.
