Job Developer



Manpower is looking for a Job Developer to join our Fort McMurray office in a part time, permanent role. We believe that it is important to place the right people in the right roles - that our people are integral to the business and a major reason for its success!



In this role you will provide career coaching and training support, and you will be responsible for the proactive, direct marketing of job seekers to suitable employers for funded workplace training based on their skills, interests and experience. Your responsibilities will include:

* Conduct program pre-qualification telephone pre-screens, determine prospect eligibility for the program and conduct intake interviews and assessments

* Conduct trainee skill gap analysis' and develop an appropriate training plan suited to the employer and client needs

* Provide one on one assistance and support to trainees as needed in their job search activities including assistance with job applications, conducting mock interviews and interview preparation activities as needed, and follow up calls to employers

* Provide confidential support to the trainees and employer partners to address any issues that arise during the initial period of employment to ensure successful job retention. This includes issues with performance, communication or attendance allowing an immediate opportunity to rectify or coach on any potential problem situations

* Directly market program trainees to suitable employers based on their skill assessments, interests and experiences for the purpose of workplace training

* Conduct marketing and promotional activities for the program in the community and with industry

* Attending career fairs and marketing the program and its clients to prospective employers

* Track current trainees in the program and prepare monthly reports and invoicing

* Provide continuous monitoring of training progress and provide support as needed

* Related education / experience

* Demonstrated experience in cold/warm calling, networking and relationship building

* Must be a self-starter who is comfortable with direct marketing of clients to employers

* Passion and commitment to assisting individuals with career development opportunities and reaching their career goals

* Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

* As a component of the position entails traveling to client-sites, a vehicle is required

* Strong knowledge of effective job searching techniques and strategies

* Ability to exercise a high degree of independent decision making and judgment

* Resiliency and flexibility to adapt to a changing environment

* Results focused and the ability to meet deadlines

* Advanced MS Office skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

* Strong administrative skills; data entry, document and file management

* Cultural sensitivity; ability to work with and relate to diverse individuals

* Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a tactful and professional manner
